Free parking is available in Plymouth Albion’s Rugby club car park. From the car park it is a short walk down to the athletics track.

In the winter, the Panthers and Minors groups move indoors. The venue for this will be published when booked.

We also have a clubhouse with an attached gym/weights facility located on the opposite side of the car park. Our clubhouse phone number is 01752 509780, however, please note this phone is not monitored regularly.

No, you do not need spikes. We discourage the use of spikes at the Minors and Panthers sessions. This is mainly due to the fact we move the groups around and spikes do not complement concrete throws circles. However, if your child has some spikes they wish to try out, we can try to accommodate this at another time or after the session has finished if you let us know.

Not through us, we do not own the track or manage it.

We only have the track hired at the following allotted times:

Monday: 5-8:30pm, Tuesday: 7-8:30pm, Wednesday: 7-8:30pm, Thursday: 7-8:30pm, Saturday: 10-12pm

If you wish to use the track outside of these times, you need to go through Brickfields Sports Centre and book it individually.

The costs are on their website: Brickfields athletics track hire.

If you do not book either through us (during our designated times) or everyoneactive then you are trespassing and invalidate any UKA insurance provided through your club or coach qualification.

We are all volunteers and the club does not make a profit. All money goes back into the running of the club, hiring of the track, hosting competitions and subsiding travel costs to away competitions.

You can support the club by ensuring your details and in particular your payments are up to date and the correct amount.

As an athlete you can support the club by attending competitions and wearing the club kit to compete in.

As a parent/guardian, you can offer to help at competitions as an official or assisting to register competitors.

We are always looking for new committee members.

We are also specifically looking for someone to run/manage the club café, along with volunteers to assist. We would like to open it for all competitions we host at Brickfields as well as providing hot beverages at club training sessions. If you think you could help with providing this service please get in touch.

Keep an eye out on facebook for any requests for volunteers in manual labour when it comes to the upkeep of our facilities.

If you wish to help coach, we offer to pay for all coaching courses. Clearly we would be looking for a commitment from you once qualified to justify the investment. Coaching courses can be found on the England Athletics website: Coaching courses

If you want to find out more about coaching please contact enquiries@plymouthac.co.uk

We are always looking for volunteers to help in many ways. If you think you can offer any time or service please contact enquiries@plymouthac.co.uk

If you are a registered competing member of the club, we offer a free vest to compete in. Order it through the wildapricot kit page: Club kit site.

We ask that once you leave the club or stop competing, you return the vest to us so we can recycle it. If your vest is not the correct size or you have grown out of it, simply order another size and return the old vest to us.

Any problems, please don’t hesitate to contact enquiries@plymouthac.co.uk

Check you are not using the same email to register two different people as this is a flaw in the system and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Either use two separate emails or book the required amount of spaces needed at each event using the one account. This would be, for example, if you were booking for two children and trying to use the same email.

Despite the testing we have done, there will be teething problems with our new system, so please bear with us.

Any problems, please don’t hesitate to contact enquiries@plymouthac.co.uk

If you can not find the event, it is probably not available yet. During the pandemic we have been attempting to make training and events live on a weekly basis due to changing government guidance and as we are still trialling the system.

No. We try to cater for all abilities and any age.

Sometimes, if there is enough interest, we offer places on a hired minibus or bus to a competition.

If you need transport to competitions, please get in touch as we often have several people travelling to the same place and attempt to arrange car shares. In the same vein, if you can offer to take others in your vehicle, please let us know.

We only offer specialisation if you are above the age of 13, unless a prior arrangement is made with a coach. The Panthers and Minors sessions involve simply trying to give a general appreciation of how to run, jump and throw in a fun environment.

If you are over the age of 13, we have many groups and specialised coaches. Please contact us to find the best group for you to join: enquiries@plymouthac.co.uk

As part of your membership fees the club will arrange your EA number and annual renewal provided you are a paying member of the club. If you have an EA (England Athletics) membership number you can compete in all appropriate competitions.

If you are in the Under 11 age group or below, you do not need an EA number to compete.

You can find your EA number on your Wild Apricot membership profile and on the membership card in your profile.

If you cannot see your number in your profile and you are in the Under 13 age group or above please contact our Membership Secretary Julie at bayne1julie@gmail.com

If you are in the Under 11 age group or below, you will not have an EA number.

Once you are registered you will receive emails with updates and competition events.

A list of common events attended by us can be found under the competitions section of our webpage: Plymouth AC website

The Devon Sportshall League is an indoor competition which is held throughout the winter months. This is for 8-14 year olds and athletes may enter up to three events as well as a relay. This is a great, fun league for kids to get involved and earn points for their team. More details will be published when they are available.

We have a specific group dedicated to endurance (long distance) and cross country running. Please contact our cross country team manager, Steve Blackford at blackford600@btinternet.com for further information.

We have a specific group dedicated to throwing. Please contact our throws lead coach, John Edwards at jwbedwards@btinternet.com for further information.

The club do not have anything to do with the selection for English Schools. You will need to contact your child’s school PE department in order to enquire about this.

As volunteers, unfortunately, we can not trawl through every member’s results at every competition to identify records. If you think you have broken a record please get your coach to contact Fiona to update the webpage at webmanager@plymouthac.co.uk and we will attempt to verify the result.

Please bear with us as this could take time.

If you have any other enquiry, please contact enquiries@plymouthac.co.uk
